This webpage outlines studio policies to ensure clarity, consistency, and a positive learning experience for all students and families.
Cascade Music is committed to high-quality, sustainable music education. The policies below exist to support consistency, fairness, and long-term teacher and student wellbeing.
A. Introductory Lessons
Each prospective student is offered one complimentary introductory lesson.
B. Enrollment Start Date
If a student chooses to enroll in ongoing weekly lessons, billed sessions will begin during the first week of the following month.
Students who wish to begin immediately may schedule individual sessions at the following rates:
$50 per 30‑minute session
$95 per 60‑minute session
C. Ongoing Commitment
Lesson enrollment renews on a month‑to‑month basis.
D. Time Slot Reservation
Reserved lesson times also renew month‑to‑month and are held exclusively for the enrolled student.
A. Billing Cycle
Tuition is billed monthly. Payment opens on the 5th of each month and is due by the 25th of each month. Invoices are sent out via email, and payment is accepted through these invoices.
B. Late Fee
Late payments will be subject to a $10 late fee.
30‑minute weekly lessons: $150 per month
60‑minute weekly lessons: $295 per month
Rates apply to new enrollments and are subject to the policies outlined in this handbook. Processing fees may apply.
A. Missed Lessons
If a student cancels a scheduled lesson:
The lesson remains billed.
One makeup credit will be added to the student’s accoun.
Tuition covers the reserved time slot, not attendance at a specific date.
Makeup lessons may be conducted either in person or online.
Makeup hours are available the first Sunday of each month from 3-6pm at the White Bear Lake location.
A. Teacher Absences
Lessons may be canceled by the teacher due to illness, holidays, or travel.
B. Annual Allowance
Each teacher is allotted up to two billed cancellations per calendar year, allowing for reasonable vacation and sick time.
C. Additional Cancellations
If additional lessons must be canceled by the teacher:
The teacher will contact the student to determine whether a makeup lesson is feasible.
If a makeup lesson can be scheduled, monthly tuition will remain unchanged.
If a makeup lesson is not feasible, the canceled lesson will be removed from that month’s billing.
Cascade Music will be closed on the following holidays:
Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day
Easter Weekend
Independence Day (July 4)
These scheduled closures are built into the tuition structure and do not affect monthly billing.
In cases of serious or unforeseen emergencies, students may submit a Special Circumstances Request to their teacher, requesting removal of a missed lesson from billing.
Approval of such requests is granted at the discretion of the administration.
A. Notice of Withdrawal
Students may discontinue lessons at the end of any month by submitting a Student Withdrawal Form.
B. End of Billing
Billing will cease on the first day of the following month.
C. Temporary Withdrawal
Students who withdraw temporarily with the intention of returning are welcome to re‑enroll; however, lesson times will not be held unless an exception is granted.
Due to calendar variation, some months may include five scheduled lesson days. When this occurs, the fifth lesson is included at no additional cost and does not affect monthly tuition.
In cases of severe weather, lessons may move online at the teacher’s discretion.
